Buyers must be wary of very long heat pump warranties that have many exclusions and limitations which often don’t cover labour or only cover limited parts.
Heat pump warranties can vary considerably. Some manufacturers offer warranties with very long warranty periods of between 10 and 20 years. These warranties usually guarantee only against “defects in materials and workmanship that appear under normal use and maintenance” which makes it hard for owners to claim against after a short period of time. Often, these warranties are limited only to particular components such as the compressor and almost never include labour costs.

+3 Extended Warranty option (Manufacturer-backed)
This extended warranty provides an additional 3 years of limited warranty to the three-year manufacturer’s guarantee. The extended warranty is available either by purchase (with labour costs included) or by maintaining the service schedule as per terms but availability and terms may vary by country and installation partner.
Additional Installation Warranty
A separate full installation limited warranty is available when conducted by local certified TermoPlus partners under their own terms –This also varies by country and installation partner.
What the warranty doesn’t cover or when it doesn’t apply
- Faulty installation by unauthorized installers
- Voided warranty terms. Examples include:
- failing to complete scheduled servicing as per the terms
- misuse such as bypassing safety elements
- making any unauthorized installation modifications
- Warranty exclusions / ineligibility – i.e. installation in countries with no local TermoPlus partners.
